Our Place Family Resource and Early Years Centre Beliefs about Volunteers:

We have wonderful opportunities for volunteers here at Our Place Family Resource and Early Years Centre. Some volunteer opportunities are one-time deals; others require a small amount of time on an ongoing basis. Of course, there are also volunteer positions requiring a greater deal of time, too.

Our Volunteer Coordinator,Bonnie Caza, can assist you in finding a position that suits your abilities, interests, time constraints and other needs. Please request a volunteer information package and application form.

Our Place Volunteers are responsible for: supporting our vision, mission, and goals; respecting our policies; honouring their commitments; and performing their duties to the best of their ability. We believe in a Staff/Volunteer partnership based on mutual support, respect, learning and growth.

Volunteers are an essential part of our organization.

Volunteers bring unique talents, skills, contacts and knowledge which enhances and compliments our organization’s capacity to provide quality services and programs to children (0 to 6 yrs) and their families. We believe that Volunteers should be provided with: meaningful assignments; regular supervision; involvement that maximizes their potential; recognition for their work; and a work environment of mutual respect. We believe in a Staff/Volunteer partnership based on mutual support, respect.

We believe volunteering with Our Place enhances people’s opportunities to be involved in working for their own and their community’s growth and well-being. It helps to foster a feeling of belonging and ownership of a project.

Definition of a “Volunteer”

A volunteer with Our Place is an individual who reaches out beyond the confines of paid employment and normal responsibilities to contribute time and service in the belief that their activity is beneficial to others as well as satisfying to themselves.

Volunteers are team members working along side paid staff in the fulfillment of the services to the community. Role of the Volunteer Our Place actively engages the teamwork of salaried staff and volunteers in order to provide the community with programs and services for children 0 to 6 years and their families.

By working together, we can provide children in our community with the best possible future. Volunteers, and the contributions they make through volunteering, significantly enhance the quality of programming and community spirit. Our Place will continue to develop and provide support for volunteers to develop this resource to its fullest.

Our Volunteer Coordinator can assist you in finding a position that suits your abilities, interests, time constraints and other needs. Please request a volunteer information package and application form from Bonnie Caza, phone number 571-1626 ext. 22.
