What does Pedagogy really mean?
Pedagogy is an encompassing term that speaks to what an educator/facilitator/parent/caregiver does to influence learning. It is a transition of theory into realistic/tangible practices, which are adaptable to fit the child – taking a bit of everything and blending approaches.
Our Place has been engaged in exploring and deepening understanding of pedagogy in child and family program settings. The work of this initiative focuses on the specific pedagogy encompassed in "How Does Learning Happen? Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years", putting theory to practice in varied and real life settings, and building pedagogical leadership in Waterloo Region.
