Baby Connections is a free community program from Strong Start that helps families develop literacy and language skills with their babies and provides each family with a take-home kit of resources. The program has been specifically designed for parents/caring adults and young babies, (6–12 months of age). This program is offered in partnership between Strong Start and Our Place.

Connecting with your Toddler

This virtual program for parents/caregivers of toddlers will provide them with tips for connecting with their child to help them interact with others and understand and express their feelings. This program is intended for families living with low income.

Parenting in a New Society

Huron Natural Area

Location

Come join us outside at Huron Natural Area to connect with other parents from different countries wanting to build relationships, and to learn about: life in Canada, how and where to find support, and how to feel at home when you are far away from your friends and relatives. This program is facilitated by a Peer Health Worker and Early Learning Facilitator, and children are welcome!

Parenting in a Pandemic

Parenting in a Pandemic with Our Place is a private peer support Facebook group where a Peer Health Worker and a Registered Early Childhood Educator facilitate conversations, host Facebook Lives and twice-weekly Zoom gatherings, and provide content and resources.

The Be"Tween" Years

This parenting program is for parents/caregivers of children 8 to 12 years old.
Come together with other parents/caregivers to discuss the day-to-day parenting of the ever-changing Tween in your life. We will focus on understanding what Tweens may be dealing with, and how to communicate and strengthen your relationship with them during this time.

This virtual peer support program is geared to pregnant and postpartum mothers of infants under age 2, who are adjusting to the changes and challenges of parenthood while coping with the additional stress of postpartum life during a global pandemic.

This virtual peer support program for parents age 24 and under focuses on the emerging needs and challenges around parenting, self-care, and self-regulation during the pandemic. The program will offer connection, support, and resources through a weekly Zoom group session, a closed Facebook group, and Facebook Live events.
